The most common question we receive is...
"How did you do that?"
Like any other custom production, we closely follow a proven process that allows us to take pictures of your animal companions and transform them into "virtually everlasting" permanent reproductions that will last for generations to come....
Summary of The Advanced Etching Process:
- You submit a quality image preferably in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi, 2 inches on shortest side)
- Provide us with a custom text dedication if you prefer to add text to the image.
- Choose the size of the Portrait or Memorial
- Calculation of order including shipping and applicable taxes
- Payment is made
- The etching is produced and shipped (returning your picture if you submitted a "physical" photo)
We have automated most of this process through our our online shop. Simply shop for the size you want and select "add to cart". We will contact you confirm details of the order. Alternatively you can use the "custom creation tool" to quickly place your orders as well.
A Brief Summary of Etching Materials and Surfaces:
Granite: Granite is one of the hardest known substances on earth. Diamonds are realistically the only substance that is classified as harder than granite. As you would expect, etching projects provided on granite (or granite wall murals) are virtually eternal.
Since we blast the image directly into the surface of the granite, it is nearly impossible to damage the material or the etching itself since the image has been basted directly INTO not just ONTO the surface.

Marble: Polished marble is extremely beautiful and luxurious. It is not nearly as hard as granite, allowing for a "more detailed" image. On the other hand, unlike granite, you wouldn't want to place marble outdoors or in high-traffic areas (like flooring). Marble is better suited to low-traffic areas like wall murals or smaller pieces set in stands. They make the perfect option for the tops to our wooden urns as the quality of the etched imagery is extremely high.

Slate: Slate is traditionally a grey colored material. Like marble, laser etched slate could be considered relatively "soft" when compared to extremely hard materials like granite wall murals or portraits. It's important to consider "where" the finished etching will be placed before selecting slate. Slate is suitable for indoor placement in low-traffic areas. Another big advantage to getting your pet's photograph or memorial in slate is that it doesn't come in "tiles" like other material. Slate comes in single pieces and can be requested as "rough edge" as seen in the sample below:

Our Laser Etching Equipment: For our cutting edge proprietary form of "Advanced Laser Etching" we realized that we needed a combination of the right hardware and software to produce the desired results. We decided on "large format" hardware that would allow us the capability of working on projects of virtually any size. In addition we utilize several forms of proprietary software to work with your imagery for the best possible reproduction into granite, marble, slate or glass. We believe in the statement "you get what you pay for", and we guarantee high value and longevity (25 year guarantee against worksmanship) on all creations.
