The Original "Etch Your Pet" Story...

Once upon a time back in 1980, a small boy in a small town received a special surprise as on his 9th Birthday; a newborn kitten.

This precious little gift became known as "Smidge" because of her tiny stature. The boy seemed delighted to be introduced to his new companion and a friendship began to flourish.

As the years passed, "Smidge" grew into a full-sized feline and became a beloved member of the family. She was like a sister to the boy and like another child to his parents.

Everything was perfect and the boy and his beloved pet shared many a great adventure together until one day; many years later the beloved family member known as "Smidge" passed on.

The boy and his family felt grief in their hearts for the loss of such a dear friend and although they would have given almost anything to bring her back, it seemed hopeless.

The boys mother sympathized with her sons' loss. He had experienced the pain more deeply than anyone else. She wanted to soothe his pain and sat quietly with her son after the loyal "smidge" had been buried...

After a moment she spoke "Although Smidge can't be with you physically anymore it doesn't mean that you can't bring the memories with you".

It was then that the boy realized that Smidge would always be there, in the window of his mind and that this process of grief didn't have to sting... that this didn't have to be about letting go...

This was about remembering...

This website, this company and it's products all serve as a reminder that we owe our beloved pets our gratitude for their dedication to us...such special companions.

I am that little boy, now all grown up. My imagination isn't what it used to be, so I've laser-etched some of my favorite images that my mother took of "Smidge" so that I would never forget the special companion of that little boy.

I now specialize in creating everlasting dedications to cherished pets through advanced laser etching.

I hope that most people will take advantage of this process while their pets are still with them physically. This gives them the chance to truly enjoy the pet photograph until such time as it will serve as a memorial.
